Rebonding??

Rebonding??

Haha, finally the teardrops "ceased" - well, at least for the time being, I guess. 3 more days next week before I finally become an additional number to the country's category of "jobless/unemployed" =)

I had been thinking if I should rebond my hair. Arrgghhh, ever since my hair-stylist layered it for me a month or so ago, I have been very frustrated with the curls that runs in and out around the neck area. I had specifically told him NOT to layer it too short until it hit the neck length or shorter, but alas! either I wasn't clear enough, or he just had too much of "fun" trimming and trimming, layering and layering ...

I'm usually someone who takes a while to make a decision, considering a number of factors before I finally act on the decision, so even for a simple act of deciding on whether to rebond my hair, there were a few factors that I have been considering ... (1) too much of rebonding damages the hair (well, at least my first rebond was done 1.5 yrs ago, and lasted me quite well and quite long =) and I don't want to damage the texture of my hair!! (2) cost of rebonding - now that I'm going to be a poor student living on A&W (aka Air & Water lah =), I guess if I can let my hair grow and HOPEFULLY get the curls out of the way ...?? (3) is there a need to rebond at all? ... So you see, I can complicate such a simple decision *wink*

Anyway, thinking about rebonding makes me dwell on the aspects of our spiritual life as well. Rebonding is to straighten the curls of the hair ... to set something that is "not right" straight. It makes me wonder how often we take time to reflect on our lives, and allow ourselves to be "frustrated" or "agonized" by the "curls" (aka sins and trangressions) in our lives, so much so that we decide that we need a "rebond"? Do we allow ourselves to see our failure before the Lord? Are we willing to confront them? And when we do, are we quick to make a decision to straighten what's crooked and wrong, and act on "rebonding" them? Do we find "rebonding" too costly or too much of a waste of time that we rather settle for the easy way out, and unfortunately, by the time we realized it, our hearts are probably calloused and hardened, and our conscience cold and immune.

Hmm... food for thought - I'll leave you to ponder before the Lord on your own. But as for me, yes, I'm still pondering, and will still be for a long while more I guess, on rebonding =)
