为何对我这么好？
Some songs were written with deep thoughts, while some were written for the sake of being written - somehow you could tell from the words, and perhaps even from the music itself.
It's rather difficult to come across songs that are so beautifully written, especially in expressing our love and gratitude to the Lord. Don't you agree that these days many songs are written that are rather inward looking (bless me, Lord ... help me, Lord ... touch me, Lord ... etc) rather than focusing more on God and what He has done (You are worthy ... far beyond all honor and praise ... etc)?
A great Chinese song I want to share with you here is one that a classmate shared with me during our mission trip a few months ago, and this song was sung at another classmate's wedding service yesterday. I love the song immediately when I heard it - the words just expresses our heartfelt gratitude and God's immense love.
I shall attempt to translate the meaning of the song here, for the sake of those who don't understand Chinese (well, I'm not the poetic kind, so I'm literally translating the meaning, without giving deep thoughts to all the rhymes and crafting of the words, etc - apologies):-
"Walking amidst crowds of people, searching every corner of the earth, I found no love that is just like that of Jesus - He consoles my heartache and He embraces my wounded soul - I just can't figure out this love relationship that expects nothing in return.
This love that made Him born as human, this love that made Him die for me, this love that empathize with all my human weaknesses - He gently calls, He patiently waits - never ceaseless, a love relationship given with no regrets.
Why is He so good to me? Though I'm disobedient yet He listens to my every prayer - said in the quietness of dawn, or in the sad hours of the night.

Isn't that a wonderfully well-written song? Thank God for inspiring such well-written songs - meant to be a witness of His love ... meant to touch the hearts of prodigal children ... meant to remind us of God's intense love even in our constant rebellion towards Him. What's your response?
