A lovely lady
A lovely lady
We finally had our NT paper!!! WOW, the room was filled with smoke, but none of us suffocate =) we emerged the smoke victorious - hopefully =)
We had arranged to take Auntie B from the library out for lunch, as a treat to her for her coming retirement and last day at the college library on 18 May.
Auntie B is really a marvelous lady - humble, friendly, motherly, helpful, accomodating, etc, etc - a lot of positive adjectives you can find I believe can describe her. She felt bad accepting our invitation for lunch and she kept telling me, "No, you all are students. I should be the one treating you all ..." But finally I managed to convince her =) And I informed M the librarian about plans to take Auntie B out for lunch also, so that in case we somewhat "exceeded" her 1 hour lunch limit, he would accomodate us for this time. M has also been the well-loved librarian by us in the college. See, we had such wonderful people there - angels sent by God to watch over us =)
Next was deciding the venue for lunch - Auntie B didn't want us to spend too much money and she said to settle for the noodle eating place at Rail Mall, but I insisted that she should pick another choice - between Rocky's Pizza, Ramen and Fish & Chips. She kept telling me, "you guys decide - whatever you want ..." And I really had a hard time "fighting" with her that the choice is rightly hers and she is the star for the event, and she SHOULD make the choice, not us =) So after convincing her, she finally made her choice - Rocky's Pizza.
Auntie B is really so wonderful. She even brought some photos of her family, and her days as student in the college to show us. And guess what? She hadmade rainbow colored bookmarks for all of us who were there 10 of us there besides her - and each of us got 2!! It was really very wonderful of her to bless us in such ways ... I actually took pix of the bookmarks but somehow can't trace it from my camera memory card =( will put it up when I locate it, k =)
I guess life in college will be "different" without - her very warm and welcoming smile as you step into the library ... her very reassuring words that its ok that we forgot to return our books on time ... her very helpful gesture in getting books we cannot find for us ... allowing us to borrow (based on trust, even without our library cards) books in the course texts reserved section to make some copies from the books while at the library itself. And the most wonderful thing is Auntie B remembers most of the students, put into her mind some of our request, and kept a lookout for us for the books we wanted or reserve, etc.
Thank you, Auntie B. May God's blessings always be with you. We love you lots! =)
