"Boredom" with blogskins
"Boredom" with blogskins
It's interesting to visit some blogs (of friends, of course) once in a while and realized how their appearance has changed within the short gaps of visit. Well, the common reasons for change of blogskins could be ... "I'm bored with the old blogskin and need a change", "this new blogskin that I came across is so much nicer and cuter, etc" ...
Hmm... all these reasons just make me think aloud - does "boredom" with all these things also affect the way we perceive other aspects of life? For example:-
- does "boredom" with study, study, study, make us look forward to a new phase in life where we get to work and earn money?
- does "boredom" in life make us want to go back to study life when we are tired and weary with the routine of work?
- does "boredom" in life make us change partners from one to another because "this one is no longer as exciting as the new found friend ..." - common excuse for breakups and breakdowns in relationships these days, isn't it?
- does "boredom" in life make us always want to look for exciting things in life so that our lives are filled with thrill, fun and enjoyment?
Where is the balance, actually? I mean, while it's not a good thing to always maintain status quo and be phased out in a constantly forward moving society, how fast or how much should we change, or make changes? What are the areas in life that constant change are advisable, and what areas in life should we learn to remain faithful and steadfast?
While changes are inevitable in life, we do have a Friend who is unchanging and remains the same yesterday, today and forever - Jesus. Aren't we glad that He's never "bored" and "tired" of us, and brush us aside when the heavens rejoice with new found souls? Hebrews 13:8 "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever."
Haha, back to the question about blogskins - I think mine needs a fresh look too, but before I come across another more artistic and tasteful one, it shall remain as it is =) Moreover, changing of blogskins can be real time consuming - I don't think I have the luxury of time to entertain this non-urgent and unimportant task ... right now, it's time to be a hermit (with the only "appearance" online, perhaps) and begin studying for the coming exam ...
