Vanity ... of men
Vanity ... of men
Do you think that women are the only vain creatures on earth? Taking all the time in the world that we have to doll ourselves up, pamper ourselves with relaxing spa treatments, go on shopping spree to catch up with fashion and trends, etc?
Hmm... if your answer is yes to the question above, I'm afraid you're wrong! *SMILE* Interestingly, I have observed that men are also becoming vainer ... well, at least 2 of my friends whom I would consider the "not-the-vain-type", and perhaps the last in the list amongst all my guy friends to become "obssessed" with vanity, are somewhat getting "vainer"???
I would call them friend A and friend B ...
Friend A would go for facials (in redemption of those complimentary vouchers he said), putting on contact lenses (which he never does in the past!!), wearing those tighter fitting tops (which definitely wasn't the him I know in the past =), walking up 4 levels by stairs instead of taking the lift - and it's to keep fit and maintain ... whatever =)
Friend B was "caught" wearing a ring (not those plain silver or gold colored ring - but quite umm... I don't know how to describe) and throughout those years I knew him, he was never that "vain"! So when I asked him the reason for his vanity, he said, "Oh, that was a covenant ring". And I jokingly said, "Why not put on ear-rings then?" and of course it would mean his job at stake if he really does that =) I just couldn't stop laughing when he said, "Must be hip mah, must keep up with times ..."
Well, the reason I found so amusing about the vainty of these 2 friends was that we had known each other for many years, and they were, firstly not the vain type, and secondly not belonging to the "youngster" category. Haha.
I think they're going to stone me if they ever read what I wrote here about them *wink* but in any case, I did say I'm just so amused by them that I'm going to blog about it one of these days *SMILE* So rescue me from the stones if they come, alright ... =)
