Food for thought - on showing love

A quote I came across which so beautifully sums up how love ought to be manifested ... "Love that goes upward is worship; love that goes outward is affection; love that stoops is grace" - the late pastor and Bible scholar David Barnhouse.

Something for us to think about, isn't it? How should love be shown? Who should love be shown to?

Love is something that cannot be quantified or measured, neither should it be conditional. In our gratitude to God who chose to look upon us with love, love should be expressed back to Him through genuine worship (and I mean real, sincere, heartfelt worship - not just mouthing the words, or merely enjoying the melody and rhythm). In learning from His example of loving others, love should be shown to those He came to die for - which means treating every person with dignity and honor. Just think about how often we chose to stoop to the level of those whose job we consider "demeaning" and communicate with them, or even give them a smile. I hope I've "provoke" you enough to think from here ...
