5 loaves and 2 fishes
5 loaves and 2 small fish
One of the incident that was recorded in all the 4 Gospels was the feeding of the 5000 with 5 loaves and 2 small fish (read Matt 14:15-21, Mark 6:35-44, Luke 9:12-17 and John 6:5-13).
Interestingly in the Gospel of John, Jesus asked Philip the question "Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?" when in fact, Jesus already had in mind what He was going to do - the question was only to test Philip.
Why do you think Jesus did what He did? Could it be that He was hoping Philip and the rest would have realized that He is the powerful Son of God, after witnessing all the miracles in the previous chapters - that they learn not to focus on the problem, but on the Person who can solve the problem?
I'm not sure what are the 5 loaves and 2 small fish (aka the "limited" resources") you feel you have in your life. Do they make you feel "handicapped" or "inferior" as you compare yourself with others that are more capable and able? The little boy offered his 5 loaves and 2 small fish - he could have been contented to keep it to himself and be quiet about it, but because he offered what he had to the Lord, it became a miracle that made history! I believe God wants us to look not into our own limitations, but to His ability to transform the 5 loaves and 2 small fish that we can offer to Him and multiply them to overflowing.
Whatever we can offer is never too small for Him to use and multiply.
