Celebrations

Second sis' birthday and eldest sis' wedding anniversary happens to fall on the same day today, so after having the traditional longevity noodle for lunch, we head out for a simple celebration over dinner at Bottle Tree Restaurant in Sembawang. Eldest sis wasn't contented to settle for the usual seafood at East Coast, hence the choice =) and I heard my bro-in-law actually drove her to the place before dinner, ensure that she's happy with the restaurant, place a booking, and then confirm the venue with us. Haha, that's why my mum always feels that my sis married really well (literally "jia-de-hao" in Mandarin) *SMILE*

The drive there was really LONG, and not to mention the really dark and deserted stretch of road into the restaurant, but it was worth the drive when we saw the setting and ambient of the restaurant - just in front of the sea (I think it's the Straits of Johor, or something like that - haha, my geography's the can't-make-it type lah =)

The restaurant had seafood and steamboat, but since it was seafood that we wanted, we ordered the obvious. Anyway, it wasn't what we ate that matters, but the time as a family together - too bad we didn't ask our other siblings to come along as it was a rather last minute decision and affair. Though it was a simple affair, but we are always aware that mum loves this kind of gatherings and "outings", especially when she's always "cooped" up at home, being kind of "immobile" without someone to ferry her around.

I really thank God for this wonderful family that He has given to me =)
