The fragility of life
The fragility of life
Do you expect to wake up automatically each morning when you retire for rest every night? Seems like most of us do, right?
I don't know about you - but reading the news about the 4 sudden deaths (1 teenager, 2 doctors, 1 store supervisor - that just collapsed in their sleep) that happened in the past few weeks just reminds me how fragile life is ... and how thankful we ought to be to God for each waking moment, and every waking morning.
I've made it a habit to begin every morning by thanking God for His grace in granting another day in the pages of my life, and by asking Him to come alongside me each moment of the day that the day may be lived to the fullest without regrets and everything done for His glory. Occasionally there are slips definitely, but God's grace is always what we can fall back upon.
If you think you deserve to wake up automatically every morning, think again ... "Why, you do not even know what will happen tomorrow. What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes." - James 4:14
