Feels good to be home!
Feels good to be home!
Feels so great to be back in my home church after like ... 4 months of church visitation??? Well, the 4 mths visitation was definitely a good experience and exposure, but the feel of being in different churches each week is just ... So now, I'm finally back to where it feels home ... where I feel most comfortable! =)
Have not had "solid" sermons for quite a while already - somehow sermons from other church pastors are just "different". Pastor B spoke today about our attitude towards service, and though it was a simple message, but I thought I heard what God wanted to tell me:-
1. Who I am must be no hindrance to serving God
2. Leave my world of comfort to serve others
3. Sacrificial obedience to fulfill God's will
4. As I honor God, God will honor me
Pastor B shared about how he "struggled" to respond to an invitation to serve as an usher and in the creche ministry (looking after toddlers 2 yrs and below) while he was studying in a seminary in Australia. He said the person who invited him to these minstry knew that he was a pastor, and in fact, he was expecting more of preaching assignments, or worship leading opportunities, than to be invited into ushering and creche ministry? It was a struggle as his credentials held him back. Thankfully, he heard God's prompting and concluded that it was such a wonderful time of serving as usher and in the creche ministry during his 15 months with the church.
That caught me thinking ... and pondering. Yes, something I need and I hope it will be something that cause you to reflect and ponder too =)
I'm learning to write shorter =) so I guess that's enough for today *wink*
