With just one click ...

A friend was sharing with me how it was so easy to search for anything in the world wide web just by clicking on "Google". In his somewhat "free-er" or "bored" moments, he had googled for some names (names of people he knew) and made some discovery in relation to those names. And in my curiosity (haha, can't bear the kill the kitty lah) I went and google my own name to see if there's anything in the www that gives information about who I am or what I do.

To my "surprise", or maybe "horror" is more the appropriate word, I found 5 websites out of the many (too many already, so I kind of click on almost 30 pages or so to browse through) that contains some information relating to me!! At least 3 was related to my work - states where I work, my title at work, even my picture was there!! Another 2 were articles (and pictures attached) that I had written for my church newsletter with regard to my ministry in the school.

I was really surprised at what I could find at the click of one button. Personally, I'm quite web-site dependent and I do find the web a very useful place to search for information. However, I have never really thought about the fact that I could FIND MYSELF in the www!! It's scary - especially if what you find is not what hope to see. Thankfully so far what is posted in www in relation to me has not been anything that is troubling or stumbling =)

In any case, this "one click" thingy just reminded me to be even more careful with what I write or blog. Although this blog is in a way my personal space to express my thoughts, reflections, sentiments, etc - I must also be careful that I do not express too controversial ideas or views, mention anything that would spark up upset feeling, or reveal too much about my own personal life - afterall, the intention of the blog is very clear - to testify about who God is in my life, so it's about Him, and not so much on me (though at times there are blabblings to de-stress or ventilate =)

John 14:26-27 "When the Counselor comes, whom I will send to you from the Father, the Spirit of truth who goes out from the Father, he will testify about me. And you also must testify, for you have been with me from the beginning."
