Traffic jams

Traffic jams

Do you get frustrated when you are caught in a traffic jam? When the vehicles in front of you form a long line, and crawl like tortoise?

I guess at times like this, we hope to know what exactly is happening all the way right in front - what's causing the jam, etc. Aren't we sometimes like that when we seemed to get "stuck" at certain points in our life? When we can't see what's ahead and wonder why things are moving so slowly or getting us so frustrated.

During such moments, what is much appreciated would be someone who can give us a little tip-off about what's happening, so that we don't have to left second-guessing. We can tune in to the radio (obviously when we are in the car) to listen out for the traffic condition and somehow knowing what's happening make us "feel better", and we travel with more patience in a way after that. Similarly, in life, God is the One who sees the big picture, what's ahead and what's hampering our progress (aka causing the traffic jam) and if we call out to Him, and allow Him to lead us with His Holy Spirit, teaching us the little steps to take, right and left, we would not be so frustrated.

Many times in life, we tend to run ahead of God, and try to find out on our own what's happening when we don't have the helicopter view - and the more we feel frustrated when we don't have the answer. Turn to God instead, the One who says, "Call to me and I will answer you and tell you great and unsearchable things you do not know" - Jer 33:3
