On (1) Scrimp and save ... and (2) Pinky

It's July!! and I'm officially a student again!!! This entire week will be the orientation for the first years' students (haha, glad I had mine last year) and retreat for the entire college. A number of us are roped in to plan for the retreat for this year. My, we had a wonderful combination of comm. members - all of us fun-loving and crazy people - those in the college are out for a good treat of fun! =P

Hmm... now that I'm officially not earning income, I find myself really consciously scrimping and saving every possible cent I could. Take for example, my mobile phone bills has always reflected a high usage on sms (I only have 100 free sms-es) compared to incoming calls (which is free) and outgoing calls (think only 80 minutes free, or something like that??), and I was laughing at myself (literally how cheap skate I am) when I replied a friend's sms and told him that he doesn't need to respond to my message if there's nothing else to add on - coz poor theological college student needs to save $$$ in whatever possible ways I can. Haha.

And that's not all - I find myself "hunting" for vouchers whenever I can - in fact, I had just redeemed a few vouchers from some card centre/petrol station, etc. Hmm... haha. And my second sis just gave me some petrol vouchers - heehee, my next tank of petrol is paid for =) And I'm also picking up all the McDonalds and whatever have you coupons to get all "more worth it" meals *WINK* So, can you imagine my joy when I received a cheque from my church, paying me for the balance days of leave which I did not take during the last working year!! Haha, feels so "cheapo" *wink* but hmm... with all the increment in prices and GST, etc - better scrimp and save, and tighten the belt a bit =)

Pinky pinky, pinky pinko - pink has always been one of my favourite, well at least for now, I prefer the softer shades of pink, as compared to my teenage years when I can literally go for anything that's pink - even bright, loud pink. Haha. Again, I caught myself (a "surprise" as I look back later on) buying a new pink wallet, a new pink handphone pouch, and having a new pink tote bag (came free with some purchase made - see free stuff again ...) Ya, I think I can hear my ex-students telling me "so cheapo!" too =P

Suddenly with all these "changes" made real, I've finally settled for the fact that I'm a jobless, poor student, starting on another new phase in my life =)

And thanks twin, for buying this poor student a concert ticket to watch the Guzheng ensemble in school last Saturday =) and wow! I was just super flattered that you bought me a ticket from the VIP row and then somehow ended up together with all of you as part of the VIP entourage - good thing VP1 was seated beside me, and at least I don't feel so "out-of-place" =) You did well as the Guest-of-honor, and your speech and prayer was lovely and a fragrant offering to the Lord!! Thanks for your blessing *SMILE*
