Jack's bachelor night ...
Jack's bachelor night ...
Haven't been blogging a lot coz there's nothing much to write on - having confined to home most of the time =(
Anyway, glad I got to be at a friend's gathering yesterday night - where a few of us had a little "Bachelor's bash night" - well, not in the literal sense of the word "bash" definitely, haha ... before Jack settle down into adulthood with his own family this coming Sat - congrats Jack =)
Again, thanks to pal who took the time, effort and energy (she was already very tired from an afternoon long meeting) to come and pick me up to meet the rest at the dinner venue. And guess what, pal could not even stay for the dinner because she has to be back in church for another night meeting. Where can you find such great friends who go ALL THE WAY out for you - walking more than extra miles .... LOTS OF THANKS AND LOVE, pal!
The group of us had a simple dinner at Vila Bali and then proceeded to the lounge next door for some drinks - and that was when we had lots of fun =)
First, we were asked "Smoking, or non-smoking" and xiao-mei just commented jokingly, "we smoke a lot only on Sunday" - aka, "smoke" our way through sometimes when talking to people, teaching/preaching - oh, don't take it in the literal sense of the word that preachers/teachers "smoke" the stuff they share ... anyway, you all are smart to take this with a pinch of salt.
Then as we settle down we were talking about how relieved we were now that it's holidays - how some of us prefer exams, some prefer assignments, etc. And I commented, "exams just make us having to memorize lots of stuff and I get confused over whatever Arius, Athanasius, and whoever else they are. And Jack said, "Actually who's Athanasius?? I forgot what I've studied ..." which Ant replied ... "Athanasius is the brother of Euthanasia ... and Anesthesia is the sister of Athanasius ..." and we all broke out laughing ...
Bro joined us at the lounge so he didn't have his dinner and he ordered the Indian nun (umm ... is that how the name is spelt??) and SK asked ... "what's nun?" to which some of us answered, "opposite of monk - ni gu ..." and he just broke out laughing non-stop.
It was not a very long night of fellowship, but we had fun just relaxing, and giving Jack a treat to celebrate his impending big day. Friends, how can you do without them? =)
