A Taize style worship experience

A Taize style worship experience

Today is the college Day of Prayer and we were brought into a Taize style worship experience. Taize uses very simple words and music, singing the songs (meditative singing) over and over and over (probably 8 to 10x ??) until one gets more or less "immersed" in the presence of God. I like the simplicity of the words that helps one to focus on God and drawing into His presence. Of course, there's also the use of icons, candles, etc - I shan't comment on that =)

Much as I felt the benefit of the experience, I thought the entire day was a bit too long, and as a result, became quite an "overkill". My personal opinion is that perhaps the day should just end with the break for lunch, instead of coming back for a second worship experience of the same as that in the morning after lunch - the lunch kind of break the flow and focus of the spirit.
