Empower me!
Empower me!
Life is the art of drawing without an eraser - John W. Gardner
How true are the words of this phrase! Indeed, once time is past, life is spent, there's no turning back, no re-doing what has been done.
The past week has not been too good for me - besides being physically down, I was also struggling/wrestling somewhat spiritually with the Lord about certain issues in my life. To add on, there were some things which happened in both work and personally which made me regret very much the then decisions that I've made - I felt really stupid for making those decisions - whether there and then it was decided out of compassion, kindness, reliefing burdens, or whatever reasons I've given ...
Thankfully, the Lord has been gentle and patient with me even as I wrestle and struggle - and I have heard some directions and assurances from Him. In fact, I thought the closing song "Empower me" at this morning's service were so aptly selected - you know, the feeling that "Ah-huh, God is speaking right into what you need ..."
God is still patiently and gently waiting for each child of His to return to His warm and secure embrace as we wrestle and meet life's challenges head-on. The race is not ours alone, but His, with us. Empower me! Do you need to invite God to come alongside you to battle life's challenges, struggles and failures - and even to share in life's glories and victories?

Empower me
(Words and music by Claire Cloninger and David T. Clydesdale)
Nobody knows how weak I am better than You
Nobody sees all of my needs better than You
And nobody has the power to change me to what I was born to be
Jesus be strong in my weakness, empower me
Chorus
Empower me, like a rushing river flowing to the sea
Lord send Your Holy Spirit flowing now through me
Till I'm living as Your child, victorious and free
Send the power of Your love, empower me
Nobody's eyes see through my soul better than Yours
Nobody's love can make me whole, no love but Yours
And nobody has the power to lift me to reach for eternity
Jesus break through all my defenses, empower me

The race is not ours alone, but His, with us. Empower me!
