Busy week ... but a satisfied one too =)

This week has been a real busy one for me - somehow, everything just seems to be happening all at the same time??? Well, whatever law dictates this to be the case ...

It began with Sunday having to take over a fellow worship leader who can't make it for worship leading - the last I did was only 2 weeks ago, so it was rather "rush" in terms of coming up with the song list, and practising with the musicians - but anyway, got through it with God's help =)

Next there is retreat committee meeting on Monday afternoon so got to rush down to college after half a morning of frantic marking of the girls' Bible reading badgework - made it through by God's grace =)

Then come Tuesday where there is class in the morning, and practice for the next day's chapel in the afternoon. Met up with Dr S before the practice to run through the order for chapel and to my "horror", instead of just leading the songs which was what I had in mind, and of course doing the Gospel reading and assisting Dr S at Holy Communion as agreed with him during the planning, it became leading almost the entire service - including leading the prayer, the offering, the doxology, the Lord's prayer ... Anyway, later that night, I went through the entire order again to ensure that I put down the right words to smoothly connect from one part to the next, and it was then that it occurred to me, "Hey! So far there hasn't been any year 1 student scheduled to do Chapel in such ways!!" And Dr S + SH (who recommended me to Dr S) are actually taking a BIG risk getting me to be so involved in this Chapel service, because if I do anything that is not in place, or say anything inappropriate - that's going to be IT!!! But thank God, the entire service on Wed went rather well. Hmm... being a perfectionist, I wouldn't say I've done very well - there could be much improvement as I reflect on how I've done. I should have pre-empt more things and be more ready and flexible at those moments ... - I'll probably give myself an 80 or 85 over 100??

Wednesday night - after Chapel and class in the afternoon, it's another rush to fulfill duty call in church. ABear had asked me to teach on the topic of "Trinity" at the Baptism Class that evening. So for the last week or so, I had been frantically reading the notes he passed to me to prepare for the session - and that is over and above all my readings and assignments ... Anyway, again humanly impossible, but by God's grace, I managed it and generated handouts for the class beforehand for ABear to print. Got down to do some simple powerpoint slides for the session too. ABear said, "pass" after I completed my task =) Haha, that was actually an assignment for my Field Education program =) I think he's just being gracious and nice - my perfectionistic nature tells me it can be better - I'll probably give myself 7 out of 10 ...

Thursday - group presentation due for our M&E class. Due to the busy schedule of pal and myself (both of us still working full-time), the group had been so accommodative towards us to fit into our schedule for discussion meetings and practices, etc. We met at least 3 times before we finally had our presentation. Well, not that I'm bias but I think we really did a GREAT job!! I enjoyed the entire presentation that our group did, and the different roles each of us in the group play. Great work, folks!!

Tomorrow will be another LONGGGG day - I'm just hoping I can sustain, but I know I can because God is the one who's carrying me all this while.

Well, of course, all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy (or Jill a dull girl =) so I squeezed time out for a good spa *SMILE*, a good masala prawn lunch, a piano recital concert, and ... yup, a few more play time coming up =)

It has been a busy week, but I'm rather satisfied with how I fare and thankful to how the Lord has led thus far. Indeed, He is the One who gives strength to us all ... Isa 40:29-31 "He gives strength to the weary and increases the power of the weak. Even youths grow tired and weary, and young men stumble and fall; but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."

All praise be to God alone!
