December
December
The arrival of December indicates the last month in the entire calendar year, and a reminder that the year is fast coming to an end. The birthstone for this month is turquoise which symbolizes purity, and the representative flower is Narcissus, which symbolizes "egotism". Hmm... does it mean those whose birthday falls in this month are egotists? *Scratch head*
I love the month of December =) For those who are schooling, it's a full month of vacation ... it's the rainy season which eases you into dreamland ... it's a month where the big SALES signs are all over the place ... it's a month where Orchard Road is beautified by bright and colorful lightings ... it's a month where employees usually get their bonus after slogging so hard throughout the year ... it's a month where we celebrate Christmas - the reason for the season is Jesus! And I like December ... for obvious reasons *wink*
Anyway, December is the time where we hear lots of Christmas carols, buy lots of Christmas gifts, eat lots of Christmas goodies, etc. However Christmas has been commercialized, let's always remember the REAL reason for the season. Without CHRIST, where would Christmas be?
At Christmas we rejoice that God is with us
At Good Friday we remember the God who died for us
At Easter we celebrate the God who triumphs for us
At Pentecost we experience the God who empowers us
