Confronting death
Confronting death
Life and death are natural cycles all human beings encounter, and while deep down within each heart, we know that death will come one fine day, we are perhaps never too prepared for it.
During PC lesson today, my lecturer gave us 3 scenarios - one is when death suddenly ran towards us and told us we have only 6 more months to live; second is when death suddenly ran towards us and told us one of our loved ones has only 6 more months to live; and the third is when death ran and told us one of our loved ones had just met with an accident across the road and had died. What would our reaction be, he asked.
Hearing the answers of my classmates - it made me realized that no matter how prepared we are about something, we never seemed to be really prepared when it hits.
For me, it's more agonizing to see someone dear and close being inflicted with pain and death, and it's more difficult to accept the situation than if it were to happen to me. I guess it's tougher for me in many ways because of events and incidents I've encountered personally in my life. Nevertheless, there will still be moments when we are hit with the harsh reality. What then will we do, and how then should we react? To me, I still hold to the view that no matter how prepared we are, we are never fully prepared for it ...
