Mad rush ... exhausted ... flat out ...
The past few days have been really mad rush for me - from one place to another, from one thing to another, from one person to another ... - it had been so busy that I didn't even have time to read the papers for the past 4 days!!! Hopefully can clear all these "back-log" by today, otherwise I'll be living in a backdated world =)
New school system
This year, the school implemented a brand new system - the modular system thingy and each teacher having a home room thingy. Well, some said that's a good step and a good change, others lament that it's stressful as there's not enough resources, students not ready in terms of maturity to have such systems implemented, no sense of ownership now that there's no fixed place for lessons (coz the students move from place to place to the respective teacher's home room), not easy to locate students should teachers need to pass urgent messages to them, students doing their "disappearing act" when they move from place to place, etc. I was just "amused" that now even in Seconday School, there's Instructional Dean, and Deans of the respective subjects *grin* Well, ultimately whether this is a good change or not - time will tell ...
College spring-cleaning
College allocated yesterday as a day where everyone is involved to clean different locations of the college. My FG was assigned to sweep the pathway behind the hostels and to scrub off the algae that clings to the railings along this pathway. Quite fun, actually - having everyone working together to make the college a cleaner place =) Haha, xiao-di was teasing me that I'll be so "gu-niang" when I do the cleaning that I'm just touching the surface of the railings without really cleaning it. Hmm ... why the tease? Coz I came to college in my work clothes and heels when I met them for lunch, but hey, I changed into my tees and shorts and am all ready to work k! Well, well, don't mistaken me for a real "gu-niang" just because I have the tendency to put on accessories together with all my apparels - I do housework at home k, and when I clean a corner or a window, it really sparkles alright *grin* - I use newspaper to ensure that they are bright and sparkling =) Aiya, no choice lah - sis and I are such perfectionist when it comes to doing everything that we ensure it is the best and nothing else - that's why we don't believe in getting part-time help or having a domestic help ... and that's why we are kind of "killing" ourselves in our annual springcleaning. Can you beat it - the last weekend (from 30th Dec to 2nd Jan) was all used up for springcleaning - and we're not done yet, coz our house is too big to complete within 4 days!!
Anyway, I had to leave early after springcleaning because of the Staff Dedication back in school in the evening. Glad I brought whatever I need to shower before I return back to school.
Staff dedication
Now, guess what? My emcee cum worship leader's on MC!! So who to take over at the very last minute? Yours truly =) It was a good thing I was trained to do last minute things like this, and I've done emcees for service and worship leading's not something unfamiliar for me.
Anyway, it was a short, sweet, simple service and we had dinner reception after that. ST and myself left close to 8pm and I was all exhausted and flat-out when I reached home.
Tired eyes
My eyes were so tired that they could barely remain open - maybe because of the mad rush the past few days ... maybe also because I wore my lenses for the past 3 days consecutively (usually I'll wear lenses for probably 3 days in a week, with breaks in between). Sigh* blame it all on vainty *SMILE*
Lots more to do and I need strength - God's strength! =)
