New school term

New school term

The new school term begins officially today - both in school and in theological college. This morning, the whole school was gathered at our old site (Serangoon North Ave 1) - walking from this temporary location where we occupied for 2 years to our Promised Land at Lorong Ah Soo. It was about 3km walk - the weather was really great - cool and perfect! Everyone except the new Sec 1s were wearing our specially designed t-shirts =) I didn't not join the walk as I had to leave for college - I mean, it makes no sense for me to walk 3km from Serangoon North to Lorong Ah Soo and then walk back again to Serangoon North to collect my car, right? *wink*

As in every year, there were some anxious parents coming to school with their kids - even though they are already in Sec 1. Somehow whenever the new school year begins, it always bring back to memory my Secondary School days - how I felt equally "lost" and "blur" - after all, only about 4 of us from my Primary School went on to the same Secondary School.

College begins officially today as well - with a different style of worship in chapel (which I enjoyed =) and Holy Communion. It was great seeing classmates and friends whom you had not seen for the last 2 months - somehow the feeling is just good =)

There's also afternoon class and I'm just so challenged by my lecturer who encouraged us to be open and appreciative about other faiths as we study them/witness to them. We cannot use the best in our faith to compare with the "worst" in theirs ... neither should we water-down or criticize their faith to such a worthless manner just because we think we have THE answer and we believe in God. Glad to begin getting my engine warmed-up again. Guess there'll be all the endless readings to rush through and assignment deadlines to meet again *SMILE* - but I'd rather be busy than lazying around ... haha.
