Chapel is a privilege
Chapel is a privilege
How often have we seen the opportunity to attend Church, and to worship God as a privilege?
I guess for many of us, attending Sunday services or going for Cell Groups, Church events, etc are sometimes becoming routine, or perhaps a chore, or even a duty. Yet not so with the inmates.
For them, that 2 hour each week is a privilege. A privilege that is given to them because they had been well behaved, ie. not found rude to the officers, or did not react in disobedience to the instructions given, etc.
For them, that 2 hour each week is an opportunity to be in close proximity with counsellors and fellow believers in the Lord. That 2 hour is an opportunity for them to sing, to worship God, to listen to the Word of God, to share their concerns and be prayed for, and to hear one another's testimony and be encouraged.
I feel so ashame hearing what they had shared. And I wonder how often I've let the Lord down when I drag my feet to the Church for Sunday services, or to Cell Groups, etc. It's truly ironic that we who have much never appreciate what we have, and are so often forgetful and thankless ...
