Do you think God has moods?
Do you think God has moods?
Well, we are all aware that God has emotions and expresses them, but do you think God has moods? Hmm... what spark the question and thought?
Lately, the weather has been really hot - so humid that you feel sticky straight after a good shower, and prespiration starts to drip, drip, drip like no man's business. On days like this, I'm extremely cranky. I can take cold better than heat, so hot weather really makes me feel .... eerrkk
My crankiness can range from being easily impatient with little things, to with people, to with the drivers on the road (even if there's no traffic jam but one slow crawler right in front of me would get me all irk up). And oh, I do get irritated with and at myself too, haha.
As my crankiness shows up, I began to think about whether God has got moods - and of course that was when I had to confess quite "perpetually" to God for getting so cranky and being so easily impatient with people that sparks off reactions in me that I know isn't right. Well, my answer to my own question is, "No, I don't think God has moods. He definitely has emotions, but He doesn't have moods like us, or mood swings like we humans do."
Can you imagine, if God was to be a temperamental being, then I think some days He will be very cranky with us, some days very impatient with us, some days easily irritated with us - I think that itself is a "scary" thought. God is a God who has emotions and will be affected by the things we do if our responses and reactions are not typical of how His child ought to be like, ie. not showing the qualities of godliness.
Are we thankful that God is always One we can depend upon, and who doesn't react or behave like we humans do? =)
